More than a fifth of adults practiced a sport that is now temporarily prohibited. So what can you still do if you want to stay, or become, fit and vital during this time? We are going to explain.
A large proportion of Dutch adults participated in one or more team, contact, group, or swimming sports—sports activities that have no longer been permitted since November 4 due to coronavirus measures. Because team and contact sports, fitness, and group classes are temporarily no longer possible, it is important to look at what *is* possible. As has been stated so often, it is now even more important than before to engage in some form of exercise or sport, preferably 2 to 3 times a week, if you want to reap any benefits. So be creative and try out a new sport (exercise) activity.. Perhaps this way you will discover a new physical activity that you otherwise would never have done, which is also fun and good for you.
CBS: one third of athletes are no longer allowed to play sports
Since November 4, several sports have also been banned for young adults (18 to 25 years old). Team and contact sports, as well as individual indoor sports, are the most popular in this age group.
Young adults most frequently participated in a sport that is currently not allowed to be practiced (35%). Among 25- to 45-year-olds this is 27%, among 45- to 65-year-olds 19%, and among those over 65 14%.

So whatever you do, don't just lounge on the couch, but stay active.
