As with (almost) every renovation, things don't always go as planned, and so it is for us, but that can happen; once the final result is in place, it will all be quickly forgotten!
What has been done to date and what will be done in the coming weeks?
During the Christmas and New Year holidays, we gave the RWIJK GYM office a new, neat, and sleek look from top to bottom. This week, only the branding needs to be applied to the walls and radiator covers, and then our new office will be completely finished. After the lockdown, we will use this space to welcome new members and host coaching appointments, body analyses, workshops, and lectures.
The new RWIJK GYM website is online: www.rwijkgym.nl, and our Lijfstijl app has also been updated to the new name and branding.
In early January, the first steps of the planned work at our training location also began. All materials were temporarily stored elsewhere so that they could remove everything. The materials we use for our outdoor training are located in a storage container next to the location. Following this, they started stripping everything out of our indoor location (from ceiling to floor). The LED lighting for our outdoor location has been installed and connected so that we now have good visibility during outdoor training in the evenings.
What is still to happen?
Indoor location:
A mechanical extraction and ventilation system is being installed so that our indoor location more than meets all Covid-19 guidelines for air safety in indoor sports facilities. Once installed, the ceiling will be acoustically sprayed, and windows, walls, doors, and radiator covers will be painted and branded with RWIJK GYM. New lighting will be installed throughout the entire training area (lighting where you won't see all the colors of the rainbow anymore when lying under a lamp ;)). As an extra, special lighting will be installed along the pillars in the room for added effect. After that, a new sports floor will be laid, and everything will be redecorated and supplemented with new equipment.
Outdoor location:
As soon as the indoor location is completed, a permanent sports area will be created for our additional outdoor sports facility (from 2021 onwards, we are renting an extra 100 m² of outdoor space). We previously constructed a canopy on the left side of our rear entrance; we will also do this on the other side of the stairs. Artificial grass will be installed on the parking deck floor, followed by permanent training racks and a nice storage container for our equipment. After that, everything there will also be equipped with RWIJK GYM branding.
As you have read, our renovated location is going to look amazing and will soon be fully equipped so you can come and train with us comfortably, both indoors and outdoors!
