Cabinet waits with further relaxations
The further easing of coronavirus rules in the sports sector that were possibly set to take effect from May 11, such as the ability to train indoors again, are taking longer to materialize. The number of coronavirus admissions to hospitals and ICUs is currently still too high, the Government Information Service has informed the caretaker cabinet. That is very unfortunate, but comes as no surprise if you have been keeping an eye on the figures and reporting of the past few weeks.
In any case, the news did not come as a surprise to us.
Next step in opening plan not May 11th already
The cabinet was scheduled to meet at the Catshuis on Sunday to discuss further relaxations effective May 11, but that meeting has now been moved to next weekend. The earliest possible date for the relaxations to take effect is likely May 18, but to avoid further disappointment, my advice is to assume that this will not happen until late May or early June.
Opening of new indoor location RWIJK GYM
We, too, would have loved to guide our members indoors again starting May 11th. After our expansion and renovation earlier this year, our members have only been able to view the new indoor location. For now, there is no other option, and we all need to put our shoulders to the wheel a little longer and be patient. If the reports are to be believed, we will get past the peak. If the decline in hospital admissions is added to that, I believe we can then move on to the second phase of the reopening plan. Until then, we will continue to hold all our training sessions outdoors, and if the weather is bad, there is now an extra shelter under which training can take place in the dry. And warmer and sunnier weather is forecast 🙂
Can't wait any longer and want to start working out, or look fit and in shape before this summer holiday? Then sign up for an intake interview with a try-out training at RWIJK GYM.
