Just a few more weeks and then the summer holidays begin.
It is almost that time again; the summer holidays begin in our region on July 16th, and fortunately, there is once again the opportunity to get away. Whether you are staying in the Netherlands or going on holiday abroad, many of us will be heading out for a well-deserved vacation.
Playing sports during the holidays
Have you thought about what and how you're going to handle exercising during your vacation? Will you take a break, or will you keep training during your holiday? The latter is wise if you want to maintain your results or not lose sight of your goals. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy some extra rest and tasty meals at all. We usually take that rest anyway because we are generally less active during our vacations. That is why it might be nice to keep your workout moments in. That way, you continue to feel physically and mentally fit and can enjoy a nice snack and/or drink a little more in the evening ;)
What sports can I do while I'm on vacation?
You don't have to immediately sign up for a membership at the local gym while you're on vacation; you can actually do a lot yourself. But what exactly, you might be thinking?
- Daily steps at least 10,000 to 15,000 per day
- 30 min swimming per day (swimming laps)
- Rent a bike (you'll also see more of the surroundings than if you're in the car)
- Do fun activities on your vacation
- Do an online workout several times a week.
- Create a training program for your vacation
There are certainly more things you can do. Always try to look at what is possible rather than what isn't. Be creative, and you will see that there is plenty you can do during your vacation to keep moving and exercising. In addition to that, as advice: pay attention to what you eat and in what quantities (this also applies to what you drink ;) ) and make sure you get enough sleep.
