Safe training at RWIJK GYM laid down in protocol

After the first lockdown (March to June 2020), RWIJK GYM operated with adjusted hours from July 1, 2020, until December 16, 2020, when the second lockdown was announced. As a result, following our indoor renovation, we have only been able to look at the beautiful new indoor location. We are therefore very happy that we can now start guiding our members there as well. At RWIJK GYM, we believe we have a social mission to enable people to exercise and move in a controlled and safe environment. We know better than anyone how important it is to guide people in Rijswijk and the surrounding area towards a healthier lifestyle and a fitter and more vital life. This is especially important in these times: due to all the necessary measures, many people have reduced vitality and resistance after more than a year of corona, and this is precisely what they need now to stay healthy, fit and vital to get through this crisis. That is why it is so nice that everyone can now come to us indoors again to work on their physical and mental health and vitality. Our trainers are eager to help you achieve your desired goals too!

We will also continue to offer our outdoor training sessions, so you can come and exercise with us both indoors and outdoors from now on.

We have been working with adapted measures for our outdoor training sessions for some time now, and as of May 19, we will be doing the same for our indoor training. Please read the guidelines below:

The starting point of the RIVM guidelines is:

Safety and hygiene for our members

1. Members are required to bring their own towel. If members wish to use a water bottle, they must bring it themselves.
2. Upon entering the gym, members are required to use hand gel/soap and/or wash their hands.
3. Members stay home if they are sick or have been sick in the past 72 hours.
4. Sick members must go home immediately. Members must follow the trainers' instructions, such as when cleaning sports materials or equipment.
5. Members adhere to the rules regarding arrival and departure in the vicinity of the gym.
6. Members avoid physical contact with other members or members present at the training.
7. Members take all brought items (bottles, etc.) back home.
8. Members follow the general guidelines of the RIVM regarding minimizing the spread of the infection.
9. Members wear a face mask upon entry and after exercising.

Method of training at the indoor location

1. We are once again permitted to provide individual guidance to members indoors, up to a maximum of 16 people in our indoor space; however, the distance of 1.5 meters from other members and/or trainer(s) must be maintained.
2. At the indoor location, 1-on-1 training, 1-on-2 training, or independent training may only be conducted while observing a distance of 1.5 meters between members and between trainers, except for youth up to and including 17 years of age, who are not required to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from each other.
3. Training is permitted in groups of a maximum of 2 people, excluding personal trainer. Training may take place in a room with different small groups, provided that the groups maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters. The trainer may give instruction to a group; these groups may not mix. Group training Continuous rotation is not yet permitted as of May 19. This means that classroom instruction for multiple groups simultaneously is not allowed. Therefore, until further notice, we are only offering the option of independent training at our indoor location.

Method of training in our outdoor gym

1. As of May 19, sports can be played anywhere in outdoor spaces. This is no longer reserved for locations designated by the municipality for this purpose.
2. Outdoor activities may consist of 1-on-1 training, while observing a distance of 1.5 meters between athletes and between members and the trainer.
3. Group training sessions may take place outdoors with a maximum group size of 30 people, ensuring that a distance of 1.5 meters (between members and between trainer and members) can be maintained – physical contact is prohibited during training. Youth and young adults up to and including the age of 27 do not need to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from each other while participating in sports.

ENFORCEMENT OF MEASURES

RWIJK GYM considers it of great importance that the social distancing measures indicated above are observed by everyone who comes to exercise with us. We are jointly responsible for complying with the protocols, and together we will ensure that we adhere to them.

Notifications

If measures are not complied with by members, the trainer may impose a (temporary) ban on that member. Within RWIJK GYM, the COVID-19 coordinators are... “Robert Havelaar and Maarten Boek” . If you do not feel safe as a member, do not hesitate to report this to us immediately.

To make and keep sports and exercise at locations such as RWIJK GYM as safe and responsible as possible, we have written this protocol based on the guidelines from the sources below:

– The general Responsible Sports Protocol by NOC*NSF, sports federations and the Platform Entrepreneurial Sport (POS)

– House of Representatives letters regarding the state of affairs regarding COVID-19 dated 12 May 2021
