Danny joined our coaching team in Rijswijk in April.

Hi, my name is Danny Dijkhuis and I live in Naaldwijk with my girlfriend and cat. Since last month, I have joined the RWIJK GYM trainers team from Rijswijk. In addition to providing personal training for a few hours a week in Rijswijk, I also work as an online fitness coach and guide people from A to Z. Prior to this, I served as a soldier in the Royal Netherlands Army for 6 years. During this time, I learned a tremendous amount, but especially about myself as a person.

The mindset I brought with me from the Army is that giving up is not an option. The question is how much you really want something and how much you are willing to sacrifice for it. You can therefore apply this mindset to almost everything in life. The same applies to fitness, because 100% effort ensures that you ultimately achieve 100% results. 

Personally, I have a tremendous passion for sports and for pursuing a healthy lifestyle. I initially started working out for more self-confidence and to look better. After that, I wanted to continuously improve myself, and so I started competing in bodybuilding competitions. I still do this to this day with great passion and enjoyment.

Danny's Mission

I wish everyone a healthy lifestyle, because exercising is more than just exercise. You feel better in your own skin, stronger, more self-confident, and believe it or not, you have more energy at the end of the day! I personally get a tremendous amount of positive energy from helping and supporting people so that they can also make this switch in their lifestyle. After my time in the Army, this has become my new mission! 

What are Danny's specialties as a personal trainer?

1. Lower body fat percentage, build muscle mass, guidance towards specific goals such as competitions, photoshoots, etc.
2. Training is a small part of the bigger picture, which is why I also focus on matters such as in my coaching. power supply, stress management, sleep and digestion.
3. Breaking certain patterns and gaining insight into your lifestyle and how we can best optimize and adjust it. After all, every diet is doomed to fail, because a diet is a temporary solution and most people subsequently fall back into old habits.
