Corona UPDATE for members and prospective members:
HealthCoachPlus is prepared for a 1.5-meter society.

In our LIJFSTIJL network, we are always busy preparing for what is to come. Every now and then with the following items, for which WE, as a Personal Training Studio, believe it is wise to have already prepared!

For as it is written; NO Plan is NOT open.So that's why we're just making a plan!
There is also from our network contact consulted with NL-Actief to determine what they, as the official trade association, have already communicated to the government. Read the NL-Actief manifesto here.

Let's get ahead of ourselves a little. We naturally hope that it will become possible for our industry to provide 1-on-1 training indoors again.
After all, the government has hopefully by now also learned the difference between the regular OPEN Gyms and Personal Training Studios. In our opinion, we have been unfairly lumped together with these sports facilities over the past few weeks.

How does HealthCoachPlus handle 1.5-meter service provision?

In his last speech on March 21, Prime Minister Rutte advised us to prepare for a provisional 1.5-meter society. Well, Marc, challenge accepted!
Then we at HealthCoachPlus just do it.

Because that is what it is going to look like with us;

1. Dealing with the studio space 

a. At the entrance and in the training studio, stickers are placed on the floors indicating to keep a distance of 1.5 m from others.
b. In the studio, sections have been marked on the floor with tape where training can be done.
c. There are posters in the training studio with: Attention! Trainer keeps a distance of at least 2 meters.
d. It is shown on the floor of the training studio where you can walk around.
e. The Personal Group Training sessions (when permitted again) will be held outside on the parking deck.

2. Adjusted training session schedule:

a. 60-minute training sessions will be reduced to 50 minutes due to changeover and cleaning time.
b. Entry at the front and exit via the back door to avoid contact with other athletes.

3. Stricter Corona cleaning protocol:

a. Board in the staff room with the daily cleaning schedule
b. After each training block, the trainer cleans the used materials.
c. Additional cleaning work is carried out daily
d. A deep cleaning every week
e. Hand sanitizer upon entry and exit
f. Door handles are cleaned after every training session

4. Additional posters with training studio member rules:

a. Home temperature before visit (or optionally upon arrival)
b. Reschedule appointment if you have a fever or symptoms (access will be denied)
c. Come to the studio changed, shower at home
d. You will be picked up in the hallway and leave through the back door.
e. Optional if mandatory later: Demonstrate no contact with COVID-19 patients via government app
f. Clean hands upon entry and exit
g. Do not shake hands, sneeze/cough into your elbow
h. Optional: Put on gloves
i. Keep a minimum distance of 2 meters from the trainer
J. We will continue other personal coaching and group workouts online.

5. Our trainers receive additional training in:

a. Guidelines must be known, and one must know how to apply them in practice.
b. We check and emphasize that they ensure their customers adhere to it.
c. They know what to do to comply with the Corona cleaning protocol
d. They know how to clean materials and other items.

Conclusion and Recommendation

In our opinion, the government is making a mistake by closing Personal Training Studios like ours while allowing hardware stores and furniture shops to remain open. After all, it is much easier to maintain a 1.5-meter distance in our studio, and our services are essential for maintaining good immunity among the population.

As you can read, we are a responsible Personal Training Studio that takes the current situation very seriously. The health of our clients and employees always comes first. Despite this, we are well prepared to conduct indoor training safely during this time.
