The great popularity of boot camps
Mostly outdoors, panting and jumping between car tires, sprinting, and lifting weights—surely this isn't an attractive exercise plan, you might say. But nothing could be further from the truth. There is an upward trend in the number of participants for bootcamps. Why is that?
A group outing.
It is just a little different from working through the routine at the gym. It truly feels like the experience of an outing. You are on an adventure with a small group. Sometimes, the exact destination and content are even kept secret by the trainer. Destinations vary from the city park to open locations in the shopping center. You get away from it all for a while.
You've accomplished something! A mental boost.
A bootcamp is also a bit of an adventure. What exactly does the course look like today? What challenges are involved? Will I manage not to fall behind? Completing a bootcamp provides mental satisfaction. A real achievement has been accomplished. You are proud of yourself.
Play element and vitamin D.
Perhaps memories of our school days in the gym come flooding back. At least once a year, the PE teacher took the trouble to completely transform the gym into a jungle of equipment. All this to put 'monkey business' into practice. Moving boisterously, exuberantly, and with pleasure, with a playful element. Bootcamp reminds us a bit of that. And then outdoors, with plenty of oxygen and a vitamin D boost from sunlight.
Everything is being trained.
Bootcamps often involve a natural form of movement. Every muscle in your body gets involved. It is all about fitness, strength, explosiveness, and flexibility, and you keep going until you can't anymore. Amazing. Most bootcampers can't wait for the next session. It is addictive.
Cornonaboost.
Exercising outdoors is healthy. That is beyond dispute. In these times of corona, bootcamp also involves no discussion about whether or not there is sufficient ventilation. Your body craves oxygen as you run up that slope, and that oxygen is available in abundance. People who might still have concerns about training indoors are now discovering bootcamps as well. Corona has undoubtedly given the demand for bootcamps a boost.
